The New Professional Development Center: An Overview
By Pam Perry, Eller College Associate Dean
The Eller Experience is defined by seven pillar words that graduating seniors have identified:
Our new Karl and Stevie Eller Professional Development Center (PDC) will be the heart of the undergraduate Eller Experience and help make these pillar words come alive.
Our curriculum is engaging, real-world and hands-on. As a result, students are immersed in team projects and numerous competitions. They have consistently asked us for team rooms and collaboration areas. As a result the 2nd floor team rooms, Collaboration Hub, and seminar rooms in the new PDC were designed. The space is designed to open into a large interactive flexible space.
Our students are 100% engaged in over 30 Eller student organizations, University level leadership, Greek chapter leadership, and civic leadership. To continue to develop all students in a way that they become our next corporate and small business CEOs, we designed the Leadership and Engagement Center.
“A winning career takes practice,” from freshmen to senior year. When employers recruit from the top 25 ranked business schools, we want Eller students noticed. As a result, our seven career coaches begin working with our students as early as possible and we know it’s working with 85% placement of our senior class, 90% of our seniors reporting internships, and more students than ever before building careers on Wall Street, in elite marketing firms and consulting firms, for the entertainment industry, and with Fortune 100 companies. We are proud of our third-floor coaches offices, conference room, and six interview rooms designed to host our Eller-specific employers. We are pleased that students will be earning job offers and envisioning their future in our new PDC.
Thank you, students, for supporting the salaries of our talented coaches every year, and Karl and Stevie Eller Professional Development Center donors for being innovative leaders who are helping us develop the future business leaders of Arizona, the U.S., and the world.
